Education Objectives

The Center plans the core competencies of future teachers in light of NSYSU's educational goals, professional needs, its areas of strength, and students' essential skills. An integrated curriculum supports the professional preparation of student teachers.

From Academic Year 2019–20

In response to Taiwan's curriculum guidelines for 12-Year Basic Education, the Center's overarching goal is to prepare outstanding secondary school teachers who combine professional educational principles, a commitment to service, and interdisciplinary expertise. Its four educational objectives are subject knowledge and literacy, pedagogical content knowledge, professional teaching and administrative skills, and the use of technology in subject teaching.

In accordance with the standards for pre-service teacher education, the Center develops five professional competencies, seeking to prepare dedicated teachers with professional expertise, care for learners, and readiness for the future.

Like an axle setting the direction of travel, it represents the Center's overarching educational purpose.
Middle circle
Like a chassis providing a stable foundation, it represents the four educational objectives.
Outer circle
Like tires supporting movement, it represents the eight core competencies or five professional competencies.
